Choosing Between a Class 2 or Class 3 Safety Vest – A Quick Guide

Choosing the right safety vest for your workplace requires an understanding of the differences between Class 2 and Class 3 vests. Class 2 vests provide greater visibility in most settings, while Class 3 is designed for workers who require a higher level of visibility. Class 3 Safety Vests are typically identified because they have sleeves with reflective tape. The added tape and hi-vis material is required to meet ANSI Class 3 specifications.

Understanding the ANSI/ISEA ratings of safety vests is important when determining whether to choose a Class 2 or Class 3 vest. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA) have established minimum standards for visibility and color requirements for safety vests. A general rule of thumb is that Class 2 vests are designed for workers in lower-speed environments (off-road construction, landscapers and other workers not exposed to higher-speed traffic) , whereas a Class 3 vest meets higher levels of visibility requirement for workers in higher-speed areas. Local and State laws may also dictate which class of vest to wear.

Considering customizing your safety vests with your company logo? We can customize any quantity of safety vests with your logo or text. All of the safety vests shown can be printed with a logo on the back. Many also have room for a small logo on the front pocket. Keep in mind that our full color option will allow your logo to cover the fine holes in the mesh fabric.

HOW TO ORDER YOUR CUSTOM SAFETY VESTS

To order your safety vests with a company logo simply add your selection to the cart. Then click on “Custom Print” in the main menu, select your print method and complete the form. We will send a mockup image of your custom safety vest typically within two business days for your approval.
